Love is Served- Volunteer Week Day 2 at Ronald McDonald House!

For our second day of our 4th Annual Volunteer Week, our group visited the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region! We had seven of our employees participate, including John Graham, Michael Merola, Aiden Martuscello, Charles Maxwell, Steve Jankowski, Ryan Zielinski, and Anthony Laporta. Our team had the opportunity to participate in the Love is Served program- where we cooked dinner and dessert for the 30 families staying in the home.

Love is Served Program at the Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region provides families with a welcoming place to stay while their children receive medical care nearby. Through comfortable accommodations, meals, supportive programs, and the help of volunteers, the House creates a sense of home and community during an incredibly difficult time.

Since 1982, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region has provided comfort, care, and a sense of home to families facing a child’s serious illness or injury. By offering free lodging, home-cooked meals, and ongoing support, RMHC allows families to stay close to their children during some of life’s most difficult moments. With the help of volunteers, donors, and community partners, the organization continues to ease emotional and financial burdens while reminding families that they are not alone.

Our Volunteer Work for Love is Served

This year, our team once again had the opportunity to participate in the Love Is Served Program at the Ronald McDonald House. We spent the day preparing dinner and dessert for the families staying at the House, helping provide a sense of comfort during what can be an incredibly stressful time.

For dinner, our team prepared a taco bar featuring two types of seasoned chicken, rice, beans, guacamole, queso, sautéed vegetables, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, lettuce, tortillas, and tortilla chips. For dessert, we made brownies and muffins.

Our team also had the opportunity to tour the House and see the incredible spaces available to families, including the movie theater, toy room, and more. It was a rewarding experience to come together, cook, and give back in such a hands-on way.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support such an important mission and look forward to continuing our partnership in the years ahead.

Previous Volunteer Work:

Last year during our 3rd Annual Volunteer Week- our team participated in the Ronald McDonald Love is Served program preparing dinner and dessert for 20-30 families. We prepared a build your own taco bar station: including chicken, beef, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, rice, beans, salsa and chips to create your own taco or taco bowl.  Additionally in 2022 our team organized a $15,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region.

Impact on Our Team:

Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region continues to be a meaningful experience for our team.

“Volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Capital Region was an incredibly rewarding experience for our team. It was special to come together, prepare a meal, and help provide families with a little comfort during a difficult time.”
