4th Annual Volunteer Week Kickoff- United Way of the Greater Capital Region!
Northeastern Insurance is proud and excited to have commenced our Fourth Annual Volunteer Week this July at United Way of the Greater Capital Region!
Our Volunteer Week is being held from July 20th to 24th, during which our team is volunteering with 5 different organizations in our local community. This is a tradition we’re extremely excited to continue each year, as it brings together communities, people, and our own team.
For the first day, fifteen of our team members volunteered at United Way Greater Capital Region with their Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. Our team members included: Hannah Braun, Sarah Audi, Mike Venezio, Liana Bucciero, Jennifer Ruggiero, Jennifer Snyder, Daphne Spensieri, James Stevens, Samantha Quinn, Robert Venezio, Amanda Fernandez, Joe Venzeio, Kaleigh Higgins, Kate Joyce, and Jessica Mullen. We were also joined by representatives from one of our partner carriers, Dryden Mutual- Evan Brown and Alexandra Howe.
About the United Way Greater Capital Region:
For more than 100 years, United Way has brought people and resources together to help meet basic needs and create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. Today, the organization works closely with local businesses, volunteers, and community partners to create lasting change throughout the Capital Region.
One of its literacy initiatives includes supporting Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a program that mails a free, age-appropriate book each month to enrolled children from birth through age five. By helping families build home libraries and introducing children to reading at an early age, the program encourages learning, strengthens family connections, and helps prepare children for success in school. Through these efforts, United Way has helped provide more than 140,000 books to children across the Capital Region.
Our Volunteer Work:
A special thank you to our partners at Dryden Mutual for donating $1,000. Northeastern Insurance proudly matched the donation, bringing the total contribution to $2,000.
During our visit, our team helped assemble 40 Literacy Kits filled with reading flashcards, reading guides and resources, and stuffed animals for local children. These kits are designed to make reading more engaging and encourage families to enroll their children in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, which provides free books each month to children under age five.

Impact on Our Team:
Volunteering with United Way was a meaningful way to begin our fourth annual Volunteer Week. Our team enjoyed working together to create something that will directly benefit children and families throughout the Capital Region.
“Our team was proud to come together and support a program that helps inspire a love of reading and makes a positive difference for children and families throughout the Capital Region,” said Samantha Quinn, Senior VP of Operations at Northeastern Insurance.
We are grateful for the opportunity to support United Way’s mission and help encourage a love of reading within our community.
