Habitat for Humanity- Day 3 of Volunteer Week

For our third day of our 4th Annual Volunteer Week, our group visited Habitat for Humanity of the Capital Region! We had five of our employees participate, including Jared Lozier, Courtney Sprague, Mackenzie Harley, Devan Maxstadt and Olivia Martuscello. Our team had the opportunity to participate in the Habitat for Humanity Restore Program.

About Habitat for Humanity of the Capital Region:

Habitat for Humanity of the Capital Region helps local individuals and families achieve greater stability through safe and affordable housing. Its housing programs include building new homes, repairing existing homes, and creating opportunities for qualified families to become homeowners.

The organization also operates the Habitat ReStore, a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells building materials, appliances, furniture, and home accessories at a fraction of the retail price. Proceeds from the ReStore help support Habitat’s housing programs, while donated items are given a second life instead of going to waste. Together, these efforts help strengthen neighborhoods and provide local families with a lasting foundation for the future.

Our Volunteer Work During Volunteer Week:

Our team had the opportunity to participate in the ReStore Program with Habitat for Humanity of the Capital Region. We spent the day moving and rearranging furniture to make the store more accessible and easier for shoppers to navigate. We also placed newly donated items on the sales floor, cleaned and organized different areas of the store, and sorted through donated goods to ensure that broken or damaged items were removed. We are grateful for the opportunity to support Habitat’s mission and look forward to continuing our partnership in the years ahead.

Impact on Our Team:

Volunteering at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore was a rewarding experience for our team. It gave us the opportunity to work together outside of the office while completing hands-on projects that directly benefited the store and its shoppers. Knowing that the ReStore’s proceeds help support safe and affordable housing programs made the experience even more meaningful.

“Volunteering at the ReStore was a great opportunity for our team to work together and make a difference in our local community. It was rewarding to see how even the small tasks we completed helped support Habitat for Humanity’s larger mission.”
