Regional Food Bank- Last Day of Volunteer Week!
For the final day of our 4th Annual Volunteer Week, our team members worked at the Regional Food Bank in Latham. Our volunteers included Hanna Stark, Alan Kholstinin, Cassidy McLaughlin, Gina Litz, Ben Daniels, Matt Sgambelluri, Victoria Siy and Connor Lind.
About the Regional Food Bank:
Founded in June 1982 by a group of food pantry coordinators and anti-hunger advocates, the Regional Food Bank works to provide donated food and essential items to individuals and families in need across 23 counties in Northeastern New York. Each month, the organization helps serve more than 350,000 people through its network of community partners. With a mission to fight hunger, reduce food waste, and strengthen the communities it serves, the Regional Food Bank continues to make a lasting impact throughout the region. Its local headquarters and warehouse is located at 965 Albany Shaker Road in Latham.
Our Volunteer Work:
To conclude our 4th Annual Volunteer Week, our team spent the final day helping organize and sort a variety of donated food items. Working together as an assembly line, we separated goods into categories such as snacks, granola bars, candy, pantry staples, baking supplies, condiments, paper products, fruit, and more. Once sorted, the items were packed into boxes, sealed, and prepared for distribution to communities in need. It was a meaningful way to end another successful week of giving back.

Previous Volunteer Work:
During last year’s Volunteer Week, our team helped sort and organize a variety of donated food and essential items. Working together as an assembly line, we separated the donations into categories before packing, sealing, and preparing the boxes for distribution to communities in need.
In July 2024, Northeastern Insurance also donated $10,000 to the Regional Food Bank after being selected as a Make More Happen Award winner for the second time through our partner carrier, Liberty Mutual/Safeco. Northeastern Insurance was one of only 37 agencies nationwide to receive the award in recognition of our continued commitment to supporting local nonprofit organizations.
Impact on Our Team:
Our team had a wonderful time volunteering here for the fourth year in a row. We are grateful for the opportunity to support such an important organization and look forward to continuing our partnership for years to come.
